Nov 11, 2010 Stainless Steel Strap Week Watch # 4 Rolex Submariner 16610

Watch # 4 is the iconic Submariner. Probably the best known watch from the best known watch company in the world. Rolex was actually founded in London England in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis. Rolex moved to Switzerland in 1915 due to high export duties for the gold and silver used in the watch cases.

This is one of my favorite watches but I do not wear it often but when I do, I usually wear this watch on a NATO strap.

11/11/10 - New old stock Seiko 5

My loyalty to this watch grows by the day. Simple, stylish, and reliable.

Nov 10, 2010 Stainless Steel Watch Week Watch # 3 Fossil Arkitetk FS4171

Today's watch is a watch that I call "The Beast". My sister gave me this watch a few years ago. It's a big heavy watch but I like the way it sits on my wrist. Of all the watches I own, it is the only one that has ever been noticed or received a compliment. It is a self winding automatic, a citizen miyota I suspect but not sure. The red winding rotor is visible through the face. Cool unique feature. I dig it, it's a cool watch!

Nov 9, 2010 Stainless Steel Strap Week Watch #2 Casio Wave Ceptor WVA-470

Today's watch is another special watch. My wife gave me this watch for our first Christmas together. This watch is the watch I refer to as my master watch. I set every other watch in my collection to it. I also set all the clocks in the house with it. The wave ceptor is Casio's version of the eco drive. It features a solar panel beneath the face that keeps the battery charged. It also automatically sets itself to the atomic clock. It's always correct! The atomic clock only loses 1 second every 30 million years.

I really like the look of this watch. It looks as good if not better than some watches that cost 10x as much. The hands are fantastic! It has world time, good lume, alarm, and its water proof.

What more can you ask for in a watch?

Casio makes a great watch!

Nov 8, 2010 Stainless Steel Strap Week Watch #1 Citizen Eagle

This week I am wearing watches with SS bracelets. Watch #1 is a very special watch. My uncle Mitsuo gave this watch to my father about 20 years ago. My pop wore this watch for years until my sister gave him the zodiac he currently wears. I asked my pop if I could have this watch and he gave it to me. I cleaned it up and re-sized the bracelet and replaced the battery and now have another awesome watch for my collection.

My Uncle was president of Mitsubishi Aluminum and this watch was a collaboration between Citizen and Mitsubishi. It features a mirror polished aluminum case and really cool brown textured dial.

Citizen was founded in Tokyo in 1918 as the Shokosha Watch Research Institute and became Citizen Watch in 1930.
In the United States, they are best known for their line of fantastic Eco-Drive watches.

Citizen makes a great watch!
