Dec 10, 2010 Casio G-Shock GL-7500 HD Hawaiian Pro Designs

Today's watch is my sweet G-Shock GL-7500HD. This watch was a limited edition release from 2005. I usually wear it on a modified NATO but since I put my 5600 on a NATO I decided to put this back on its original resin strap so I can show some more of the cool design features, the Hawaiian Pro Designs bird logo on the bottom strap, and the G-Lide in a military style stencil on the top strap. The case back also has the Hawian Pro Designs logo engraved into it. Very cool! Hang loose! Click here for more information on this watch here

Nov 19, 2010 Nato Strap Week Watch #5 Casio G Shock GL-7500HD-1 Milshock on DYI NATO/ZULU Strap

Today's watch is my G Shock 7500 that I fitted with a modified heavy duty 4 ring Zulu Strap. I had wanted to put one of my G Shocks on a NATO but after Shockeys struggles with the adapters I wanted to find another way. I came up with this. Instead of modifying the watch or using adapters, why not modify the strap itself. I chose a heavy duty 22mm ZULU and cut notches at the points it needed to fit the lugs. I then melted the cuts with a lighter. It worked great!

Besides being fitted with a NATO, this is a really cool watch. It is a limited edition 2005 model that was designed by legendary Hawaiian Surfer Donald Takayama. It's a G-Lide model that features a tide graph, moon phase indicator and a vibrating alarm that is perfect for swimmers, surfers, water skiers and anybody else who needs an alarm they can feel instead of hear.

It's a fantastic watch that I am very proud to own!

11/13/10 - gw-6900 at the range

Nov 13 , 2010 GW5600J Sunrise at the oldest golf course in Texas!

Established in 1899, Hancock Golf Course stands today as the oldest golf course in the state of Texas. Located in the heart of Austin, this par 35, 9 hole course is a challenging layout with numerous carries up and down hills and over beautiful Waller Creek that meanders through the course. The old course is relatively short by modern standards, featuring small, well manicured greens that are typical of the era in which it was built.

The noted teacher, Harvey Penick, started his professional career at this location.

Another jewel in Austin!

Nov 12, 2010 Stainless Steel Watch Week Watch #5 Casio G Shock MTG1000-1

Today's watch is a fantastic piece of technology! The MTG 1000 is part of Casio's iconic G Shock line. G Shocks are great collector pieces and seem to bridge the gap between high end watches and basic time pieces. Even guys who collect Patek Philippes sport G Shocks.

This paticular G is part of the Metal Twisted G line. It is the middle of the G Shock line positioned between the regular G's and the high end MR-G's.

The watch utilizes composite band technology to reduce shocks transmitted to the watch and has 5 powerful motors to control all its impressive features.

Tough Solar(mass solar charge system)

atmospheric pressure waterproof function

Radio reception capability: Automatic reception (six times / day) / manual reception

World Time: 27 cities (29 time zones), time display, daylight saving time setting function

Nov 9, 2010 Stainless Steel Strap Week Watch #2 Casio Wave Ceptor WVA-470

Today's watch is another special watch. My wife gave me this watch for our first Christmas together. This watch is the watch I refer to as my master watch. I set every other watch in my collection to it. I also set all the clocks in the house with it. The wave ceptor is Casio's version of the eco drive. It features a solar panel beneath the face that keeps the battery charged. It also automatically sets itself to the atomic clock. It's always correct! The atomic clock only loses 1 second every 30 million years.

I really like the look of this watch. It looks as good if not better than some watches that cost 10x as much. The hands are fantastic! It has world time, good lume, alarm, and its water proof.

What more can you ask for in a watch?

Casio makes a great watch!
